      appointment at Bay of Islands College. Mr Boagey had a keen interest in reading[...]ege.







      A great deal of development of the Bay of Islands College is due to Mr Boagey
      over a crucial period[...]He transferred from that position to Principal of Bay of Islands College starting
      here at the beginning of the 196[...]rking with the schools centred on the
      Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas. He served in that positio[...]
      [...]y have three children, Susan (a former student of Bay of Islands College), Glenys and David (who

      He served in the RNZAF from 1942-1945 a[...]July 1950 and was one of the foundation
      staff of Bay of Islands College. He has taught a variety of subjects, but[...]rugby included being the College delegate to the Bay of Islands
      Rugby Sub-union from 1951 to 1963, and Manager of[...]e Paihia Ex Servicemen’s Association and of the Bay of
      Islands Rugby Sub-union. He will be remembered as a kindl[...]Whangarei.

      Mr Terry Fahey 1953-1983
      The names of Bay of Islands College and of Mr. T.B. Fahey go together. They h[...]service to the Kawakawa District High School
      and Bay of Islands College. In retirement Mr Fahey resides in Paihia[...]ares for his family and takes a quiet
      interest in Bay of Islands College.

      Miss Colleen Burke, Mrs McNamara, Mrs F[...]n
      1955 and most of her teaching time was spent at Bay of Islands College (with various breaks
      to rear her family),[...]eo McNamara and each of their 6

      In 1992 for the fourth consecutive year the Bay of Islands College tennis team won the Mid Northern zone competition BUT
      funnily enough the 1993 magazine reports that the Bay of Islands College team won the same competition for the 8th[...]y participation has been linked with tennis since Bay of Islands College opened its doors.

      SWIMMING ACTIVITIES

      Swimming Activities at Bay of Islands College have developed tremendously over the year[...]a District High School and throughout the life of Bay of Islands
      College, the sport of basketball, which changed i[...]n of the winter gym frock and in the first school
      magazine 12 girls were awarded ‘basketball girdles.’ N[...]ion of the Kawakawa sub-association competitions. Bay of Islands College fielded several teams for regular

      The Bay of Islands College team of 1986 won the secondary school com[...]me keen coaches. With the addition of a new pitch Bay of

      With this in mind one may wonder why rugby at Bay of Islands College has not
      consistently produced top teams t[...]reat year for rugby with the clear winning of the Bay of Islands third grade championship. The first XV

      A popular sport in the early days of Bay of Islands College for both male and female students, and by[...]all players will still be found on the diamond at Bay of Islands College.

      Council she is another stalwart at Bay of Islands College. As a newly wedded young teacher

      May of 1970.

      in 1987 Bay of Islands College was fortunate to have his services in the[...]isfied with

      an efficient and effective area for Bay of Islands College students to study, read and utilise
      the a[...]door Education. From the time he first arrived at Bay of Islands College he developed the whole Outdoor
      Education[...]uld be difficult to find a pupil who has attended Bay of Islands College over the last 20
      years who has not been i[...]t I was very proud and privileged to be a part of Bay of Islands
      College during that time and to have led it throu[...], laughed and cried.

      Bay of Islands College girls again attended the National Finals[...]from other sports, etc but such is the history of Bay of Islands College
      Basketball that we will undoubtedly see a[...]nd house spirit. The first two were held at Bland Bay but now they are
      located at Kaitoke Camp below Mt[...]t. They were also held at Rawhiti and later Bland Bay, but in 1996 it was decided to discontinue them
      a[...]from Keith McKenzie (and many lunches missed) the Bay of Islands College team came first in the
      Inter-Secondary Gy[...]ps.

      BADMINTON
      First mentioned in the 1979 school magazine, as an activity enjoyed by many pupils in their s[...]y as
      a college sport, badminton is a great game.

      Bay of Islands College hosted the first ever Northland Inter-sec[...]ey were hosts again in 1980 and 1981 when the top Bay team beat Northland College 5
      games to 3 to win t[...]1990, Justin Halliday, made his mark. He won the Bay of Islands U16 Boys championship and was selected to
      represe[...]future.
