      College staff it was difficult to assemble the team and have more organised
      practices, using College facilities. The 5th Grade A seemed to be at their[...]oduce the
      improvement in play that was hoped for. College B won the competition, with

      After an interesting competition, the College team finished runners-up,
      one point behind Bay of Islands College. The final result was dependent on a
      victo[...]ged by torrential rain during the first half. Our
      College team had one loss, to Bay of Islands, and two draws (Bay College and
      to Kaikohe), with the other games resulting i[...]well placed in the final competition result, the
      College team distinguished itself by defeating all the to[...]August.

      .(_:OHegICHS were runners-up to the top Northland team, Otangarei for the
      Stanicich T"rophy on the[...]y.

      : The 2nd XI were too strong for both the Bay College and Kerikeri District

      The tournament was won by the College A team and
      having thus acquired the Opening Tourn[...]e second day of the tournament saw Bay of Islands
      College fight strongly against Northland College and
      after a surprisingly even competition, the fi[...]raw. The last game of the day was
      against Kaitaia College, the score being 22-10.
      Early on Friday, July 5, along with College rugby,
      hockey and soccer representatives, the bas[...]High
      School. After a most enjoyable weekend, the College
      representatives returned to Kaikohe on Sunday 7th[...].
      Two weeks before the end of the season, Otahuhu
      College came up for their annual fixture with North-
      land College. Two very strong and evenly-matched
      teams[...]chool, was permitted to result in a defeat of the
      College A team by the Whangarei girls, 26-22. All[...]
      [...]we travelled to Pukekohe High School, with other College represen-
      tative teams, and had a very enjoyable[...]e with Whangarei Boys’
      High School, held at the College in August. They marched on to the field as
      prospe[...]ll against tough opposition.
      We defeated Avondale College 4-0, Colenso 2-1 and Mt. Albert 3-1. We lost
      to Christchurch West 1-4, and Waimea College 2-3.

      Our last game was the annual match with the College Old Boys and turned
      out to be a fast, thrilling m[...]gratulations to C. Moss, who was selected for the Northland Colts to play in
      Napier.

      of the season, as the College teams con-
      sisted of many new and youthful players.
      However, the four College teams fielded in the
      Bay of lIslands competition[...]et conditions and
      the standard of play was good.

      College A members were: S. McManus
      (capt), L. Maihi (vice[...]Robust,
      B. Dobbs, L. Byers, V. Scown, H. Maddox.

      College B members were: B. Kelly (capt.),
      L. Collinson, J[...]Hill, J. Renton.

      Bay of Isiands Competition

      The College A team was very unlucky to be narrowly beaten by[...]ged to win both the minor and major
      competitions. College Red and College Yellow (two teams of even strength),
      played in the Senior B competition. College Red came runners-up in this section,
      and College Yellow third.

      Inter Association Games

      During the season many of the College players were called upon to
      represent the Bay of[...]ekohe: won 1-0. The Triangular Tournament
      held at Northland College resulted in College A defeating Dargaville 6-0, and
      Kaitaia 4-1. At the inter-secondary schools tournament at Pukekohe, College A
      wos faced with strong opposition and a rough ho[...]st Whangarei Boys' High Scheol, which was held at Northland College

      How Northland College Athletes of 1963 compared with the rest of[...]
      [...]sulted in a 3-all draw. In the women's hockey the College team
      proved too strong for the ex-pupils, winning[...]e was fast and open right through to
      the end. The College team proved the luckier team of the day to turn o[...]achers, doing their training at the Tea-
      chers’ Colleges in the Auckland area.
