      This was the Northland College lst Eleven at the height of its
      revival. Earlier[...]the fields-
      men,took 9 wickets for 48 runms. The College batsmen in their first
      innings put together a fas[...],the final result was a 10 wicket outright win to Northland

      College.
      Earlier in the season the College registered three wins in the

      local competition a[...]me at Kaitaia last December, Kaitaia
      defeated the College on the first innings. Kaitaia made 60 - 6
      declared. Northland College was all out for 47. |

      1ST XI HOCKEY (Boys)

      Back Row—K. Attwoo[...]nners of the
      Matamata section gained victory over College in the final game
      with a win of 4-1, giving us se[...]long. Once again a great season of H ockey by
      the college lst X1 which future teams would be proud t[...]
      [...]vour. Roll on the day.......!
      Results: v. Kaitaia College won 30-29
      v. Dargaville H.S. ‘won 21-19
      v. Bay[...]fit enough and lost their game.,

      BAY OF ISLANDS COLLEGE

      They did have their revenge however when both teams
      were guests at Bay of Islands College. This time it was the
      red's turn to lose and the yellow's to win.

      Results: v. B.O.I. College
      "A" red lost

      OTAHUHU COLLEGE

      Players of



      The final Inter-School game of the season was v. Otahuhu
      College at Otahuhu. Northland College seemed to have fallen
      victim to the hot sun (or w[...]smart new uniforms were entered,and were
      known as Northland College "B1,B2 and B3." During the start
      of the ro[...]
      [...]ir usual "Al" team in their
      Pitman touring party. College won 13-12.
      Hohaia A team of third formers went to[...]ted B.0.I. in Whangarei, Kaitaia, Rotorua and the
      Northland Tournament.
      The members of the team were:-
      Iris M[...]st X1 Soccer team was promoted this season to the
      Northland First Division and, although only placed sixth ou[...]d Kaitaia in the Quad-
      rangular Tournament.

      essfu}ly took the place of Keith Crate who left Northland Col-
      lege in May and discontinued playing for our[...]ry. Keith Crate has been a force behind
      so?c?r at Northland College for the past three years and his
      guiding h[...]
      The team played only one inter-school game against
      Kaitaia College 2nd X1. Northland played well together and
      were leading 2-0 at half[...]his large
      group.

      Unf?rFunately Mr.Crate has left Northland College to take
      UP a position at Whangaroa College and we wish him all the best
      at his new school.[...]d with
      last year:

      1971 - 35 total passes, 8th in Northland.

      Boys' "A" team played their games at College. Then vice-versa this
      year,the Boys travelled while the Girls played at College.

      The Boys' team won all games.

      We then invited Kaitaia College to play an Invitation
      match of Best Out of Three:[...]Cup from Ohaeawai. This forced a play off between
      Northland College and Ohaeawai to decide the competition
      winners. W[...]s contested annually between Dargaville High, Bay College,
      Kaitaia College and ourselves.

      Our visit to Otahuhu College ended in a dismal victory
      to Otahuhu College. We once again handed over the Tai-Tokerau[...]

      During August holidays of

      this year the College Maori Club
      toured Fiji for the second time[...]

      School, Yisiting high schools,and Kamo College,Whangarei, and
      two evening performances for the p[...]terisation. The costumes,mostly borrowed from the
      Northland Players, but many made or adapted by our C[...]

      A Committee was formed of[...]ene) N.C.0.P.A. John Hislop (Kaikohe)
      .C.0.P.A. & College Farm.

      Mesdames: Barbara Hogan (nee Watling) N.CO[...]night 3lst
      arch 1972. The Committee opened up the College Hall and coped
      with last minute registrations etc[...]loured slides taken over a period of years
      at the College. Tea and biscuits were served. The air of[...]up to an hour or hour and a half and
      then back to College Assembly Hall for the Official Welcome

      Mr.Byers spoke of organising committee and the start of
      College and final speaker was Mr.Pitcaithly.

      He gave a hilarious report on the Opening day of the College
      How he had a Building,Pupils and nothing else. Bo[...]y this time it was 12.30p.m. and lunch-time.

      The Northland College Maori Club did the catering and prov-
      ided lunche[...]was very informal with everyone free to tour
      the College Hostel (the new Jack Byers' House) College Building
      and the Farm. At 3 p.m. the Commi[...]
